Additional Content

The cave, together with a group of other significant caves, is situated inside the mountain Castillo (Las Chimineas, La Pasiega and Las Monedas). The engravings and symbols can be found in a 150m long system of caves, which is divided into smaller rooms by boulders which have toppled down. The niche with complex symbols and an anthropomorphic figure in the central section of El Castillo is especially noteworthy. The illustration of a mammoth in the gallery of dots is part of the rare motifs in Cantabria.
