Archaeologists are not always granted enough time, and often have to work under very difficult conditions. The field work at the Vale Pincel 2 site was one of those situations. An urgent archaeological diagnosis was required; the views of all the organizations and institutions involved had to be taken into account and, above all, the adequate mitigation measures had to be taken, in order to ensure the preservation of the archaeological heritage. This episode's positive epilogue was the fact that it called attention to a relevant archaeological site that had been somewhat forgotten.
