The Basque Country is located in a transit area between the Iberian Peninsula and the European continent. During the XX century they have been numerous the discoveries of Lower Paleolithic industries in its northern slope. In a more recent way, occupations are being also detected to the south of the Pyrenees, in deposits that present occasional stratigraphical testimonies. Among these last ones, we may highlight the location of Irikatz (Zestoa, Gipuzkoa), in excavation course from 1998. The five developed excavation campaigns allow to describe its level IV that is preliminary dated in the last interglaciar period.
