The Aitzbitarte Caves, there are five caves, staggered in location from the torrent below them; three of the five caves contain Palaeolithic deposits.They are numbered from I to V,starting with the lowest cave,which is closest to the torrent.

Chronological Abstract: 

Stratigraphy, identifies a number of levels, of which the seven highest have been excavated. Of these levels, an evolved Aurignacian level dating to around 31000 BP and three Gravettian levels dating from 29000 to 20000 BP are especially notable.

General Location Description:

Aitzbitarte Cave III, located in Errenteria in the Basque Country, ten kilometres from today's coast, is one of five caves located in the area. The south- west-facing Cave III has a large vestibule, which is 16 metres long, 9 metres wide and 4.5 metres tall.
