First Description:

Chronological Abstract:

In this area are several settlement sites from the Middle Paleolithic and the Neolithic/ early Bronze Age. Settlement sites from the Upper Paleolithic and the Epipaleolithic are still missing. The Middle Palaeolithic site Can Costella has six geological horizons. The basis of the layers has been reached. The dating of the travertine with the Uran-Thorium technique dates the site into the early Würm (OIS 5) (Pastoors 1998 unpublished).
